When opening RAM Concrete Shear Wall, a RAM Container MFC Application Error is displayed and then the program crashes:
A. If the problem affects all models, then the crash is associated with out-of-date DLL files used by RAM Concrete Shear Wall. To resolve the problem, perform a clean installation of RAM Structural System using the instructions under the RAM Structural System heading on this web page:
Performing a Clean Installation
When manually deleting folders after uninstalling the program, also delete the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley\Engineering\Biaxial Interaction
B. If the program is file-specific, then that's a sign of database corruption, in particular with the section cut information.
First check the backup file.Rename the .backup file to something.rss and check if it also crashes. If it is OK then proceed with the backup.
If the backup also crashes then the only way to get past the crash is to remove the file.db.sdf file form the working directory while the file is opening in Ram Manager. This purges the corrupted section info and allows you to get into shear wall module. Regretfully this also eliminates wall openings so that will have to be modeled back.
For more on the working directory see: RAMSS Files
Otherwise, please submit a service request and include the problematic model.
