How do I graphically display the distance between two nodes?

 Go to Tools | Display Node to Node Dimension or click the dimension icon. If you have kept the original toolbar layout, the icon is in the first row, 3rd group from the left, and it looks like a double arrow with 2 parallel vertical lines on either side.

 

In connect Edition it is under Utilities > Node Tools > Node to node distance
