Mapping Structural Modeler/Power Structural Modeler Code Names To STAAD Section .MDB Files

      Applies To

      Product(s): STAAD.Pro
      Version(s): All
      Environment:  N/A
      Area:  Import Export Solutions
      Subarea:  Import/Export
Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group

To export, there must be a corresponding section in one of the STAAD section databases (*.mdb) and the code name in the Structural XML file must correspond to the correct STAAD table.
Where possible, the translator correlates the code names of the delivered XML files with STAAD country codes. For example, in us.xml, the code name is "us" while in uk.xml the code name is "uk". The translator knows to map "us" to STAAD country code 1 or "uk" to STAAD country code 3.

So, if you created a section file with the code name "myCodeName", the translator does not know what to do with it. Try reusing one of the code names in the delivered XML files (or refer to Table 2 below for a list of known code names) that corresponds closest (refer to Table 1 below for a list of STAAD country codes) to your custom section file. However, with the exception of some simple prismatic sections such as rectangular or circular sections, if the section does not exist in a STAAD database, it cannot be exported.
