        • Question: I have modelled a simple symmetric structure with channel sections and applied symmetric vertical loading to it. I have used IS800-2007 as design code. The columns doesn't show symmetry in UC ratio. Please help.

I have tried using the "substitute" command to renumber members.  The command was entered as follows:

      SUBST MEMB YR 29.0 33.0 START 900

I entered this command immediately after definition of member properties.  This command has no effect and the members are not re-numbered.  Can you indicate any corrections that should be made?  Is there a specific location in the command file it should be entered?  Is there a more reliable way to renumber member numbers in the GUI?.

      Thank you.
