    Pushing Connection Tags from STAAD.Pro

    iTwin Analytical Synchronizer

Bentley's Integrated Structural Modeling (ISM) allows structural engineers and designers to share structural engineering project information among modeling, analysis, draft, and detailing software applications using the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer.

In this wiki, we will discuss how connection tags in STAAD.Pro will ensure that connection information is available in your detailing application.

Creating the Connection Tag XML File for STAAD.Pro

A Connection Tag XML file links connection tag definitions with a RAM Connection Template. The XML file will be used by STAAD.Pro to:

    • Categorize Connection Types
    • Identify Connection Templates
    • Create Connection Tag Names to be used across STAAD.Pro, RAM Connection, iTwin Analytical Synchronizer, and your Detailing Application
    • Identify the Steel Connection Design Code

In this video, you will learn how to edit the XML file and review the corresponding RAM Connection templates:

    Assigning Connection Tags in STAAD.Pro

This video demonstrates the process of assigning connection tags in a STAAD.Pro analysis model. Next, those connections can be designed and reviewed in RAM Connection.

Connection Tags in the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer

This video demonstrates exporting analytical and connection tag data to an analytical iTwin repository (formerly known as an ISM repository) that contains the connection tag assignments from STAAD.Pro.

Connection Tags in your BIM Application

This video demonstrates importing an analytical iTwin data model into ProStructures and then review the section properties for connection tag data.
