Unable to Import the Wall elements from ETABS 2019 / ETABS 2020 MDB Files

A wall when modeled, has 4 corner points, 2 of which will lie at a particular level X and the another 2 will lie at a level which is below the level X.

Now when this data is presented in MDB under the ‘Wall Bays’ table, a wall will have

  1. PointNumber = 4 and
  2. PointBay = 2 (each one will lie at a level considered and another at level below the considered level)
  3. PointStory = Referencing as Same and Below.

Below is the snip for more clarification –

So, a wall will always have 2 of its points at considered level and the other 2 at the below level.

When MDB is created from ETABS, sometimes while exporting the data, ETABS shows that all 4 points lie on the SAME level which is not the expected case.

In such a situation, it is required to modify the data in the MDB created itself as below.

In the Wall bays table, find out all those walls which has all the 4 points lying on same level and change the PointStory as ‘Below’ for the 1st, 2nd point; and the 3rd, 4th point will lie on the same PointStory Level.
