I am importing a model into STAAD.Pro from another application and find that the same section properties are being represented by multiple section references within the Properties - Whole Structure dialog box. Also in the input command file, I have hundreds of lines because the same section property is being assigned to a single member one at a time. Is there anyway I can merge all of the property references and combine the member property assignment commands in the input command file ?

 

Yes there is a simple way of doing that. From within the Analytical Modeling workflow, go to Utilities > Structure Tools > Merge Properties as shown in the picture below to do the merge.

One thing to note here is that, this operation is irreversible which means that you cannot rollback the model to it's original state by using the Undo command, if you need to. So to be on the safe side, make a copy of your existing model so that you can always get back the original model, in case anything goes wrong with the operation.
