Bentley's Structural Synchronizer as of release SELECTseries 3 can now publish .mism files for consumption on the Apple iPad and newer generation iPhone devices using the Structural Synchronizer View App. Any model passed to the Structural Synchronizer can now be exported and viewed on the Apple mobile device. This section shows a few videos on how to send your ISM models from the synchronizer and view them on the Structural Synchronizer View, available Free, from the Apple Store.
Step I: Creating an ISM Model
The starting point for all the models that you can view in the Structural Synchronizer View App is an ISM model produced from any of your desktop structural products. This video shows how to create an ISM model from just one of the many ISM enabled applications. All ISM enabled applications function in much the same way. Step II: Publishing a mobile ISM Model
Starting with an ISM model the free ISM Viewer desktop application is used to create a mobile ISM (mism) model. Step III: Using iTunes to get mobile ISM Model (mism) to iPhone/iPad
The mobile ISM model can be sent from the desktop to the Apple device any number of ways. Some of the possibilities include attaching to an email or putting the file on a cloud service like DropBox, iCloud or Amazon S3 which can be easily accessed from the Apple device. Step IV: Viewing mobile ISM Model on iPad
On the iPad/iPhone the mism can be opened by selecting the file in any of the delivery systems (email, DropBox etc) and choosing to open with the Structural Synchronizer View App. This video shows how to access your model from the Amazon S3 cloud service (see Step II for publishing to Amazon S3) and introduces you to some of the many capabilites of the Structural Synchronizer View App. Click image on left to view video...
