What does "Exists Opposite Connection" does?
In Beam to Column Web (BCW) connections the “Exists opposite connection” check, is used assuming that exactly the same connection is attached at the opposite side, so the
Bolt bearing check on the Support section of the report reflects it being divided by 2
.
We do not consider the effect of other beam at the other side in shear connections BCW (we do consider on Moment Beam to Column Flange BCF Connections). However, there is already and enhancement to consider this. it will affect the demands considering the loading transfer. It can be added for all BCW connections in
further updates
.
