How to see the Buckling Shapes of the structure?

 

In STAAD.Pro there are 2 types of Buckling Analysis - Iterative Method and Eigen Method. Out of these 2, the Buckling Factors can be reported only if the buckling analysis is performed by using the Eigen Method*.

Once the analysis is performed, the Buckling Shapes can be reviewed in the Postprocessing workflow by going to Results -> Layouts -> Buckling menu.

The numerical values of the buckling shapes can also be printed in the Output file. To do that, the command PRINT BUCKLING SHAPES must be added into the input file. This can be done by going to Analysis and Design -> Post-Analysis Commands -> Define Commands -> Buckling Shapes and click Add button.

The buckling shapes will be printed in the Output file after the successful analysis.

*Eigen Buckling Analysis method can be used only if STAAD.Pro Advanced license is activated.
