A sample model has been created to study the effect of loading applied on secondary beams (Demo_2.STD).
Due to the point load applied on the secondary beam, it can be seen that a moment will be developed at the end of the secondary beam.
This moment will induce a torsional moment on the primary beams.
In order to generate this torsional moment (MX), the primary beams should have sufficient torsional stiffness. In this case, the primary beams have sufficient torsional stiffness and it can be seen from the member property values of Ix,
If the torsional stiffness of the primary beams are reduced, the torsional moment induced in the primary beams will get reduced (Demo_1.STD).
