In Beam Column Flange design with CSA S16-14 code, some checking is referred to AISC code

Bolted End Plate Design per CSA S16-14, reports are generated per AISC code

    PDF

We are adhering to AISC DG16 guidelines for designing this connection under the Canadian code. However, in cases where the Canadian Standard lacks references, we supplement with corresponding ones from the AISC Standard to provide a more comprehensive approach to the user, taking into consideration additional capacities.

As can be verified from the same report, other capacities are determined using the Canadian standard since we have an equivalent equation. Nevertheless, for both capacities that are referenced to AISC, we do not have a Canadian equivalent, and therefore use the yield analysis method provided by AISC. Our utilization of AISC guidelines provides an additional and proven procedure that enhances the design process.
