How to perform a clean installation of STAAD Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition?

These steps should be followed to completely uninstall STAAD Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition from the machine and then install a new version.

  1. Close all STAAD Foundation Advanced applications (if any instance is open).
  2. Go to Control panel > Programs and Features.
  3. If there is any version of STAAD Foundation Advanced present there, uninstall it.
  4. Open the registry editor (go to Run > Regedit) and search for STAADFoundationAdvanced in the keys/Values/Data and delete all of them.
  5. Go to the following locations and check whether a folder named “STAAD Foundation Advanced or STAAD Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition” exists or not. If the folder exists, delete the folder.
    1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering
    2. C:\Users\<user.name>\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering
    3. C:\Users\Public\Documents
    4. C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Engineering
  6. Save the setup file of STAAD Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition in a local drive, right click on the file and select the option “Run as Administrator.”
  7. Go through the installation, preferably with the default settings.

Note: There are few free software available (for example, Revo Uninstaller) which can uninstall the software, delete leftover files and delete the related registry files (perform step 3 and 4). If any of this software is used to uninstall STAAD Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition, step 5 should be performed to ensure that there are no leftover files present in these locations. If you are not comfortable in updating the registry, you must seek help from your IT department.
