How to break beams at some nodes in my structure ? 

 

In STAAD model, it is expected that all analytical members will be connected with each other through nodes for proper load path. In many cases there are nodes but the members are not broken due to some modelling error or other reasons. In this case, multiple structures can be found in the model. To break the beams at the nodes, you may select the nodes and then click on break beams at selected nodes.

This will break the beams and ensure proper connectivity.
