Description

When I try to run the analysis with a design code, I get the message "Copy protection device/system does not support AISC/ASD code." or "Copy protection device does not support the Aluminum design code" or "Copy protection device/system doesnot support BS 5950/2000 (British steel design code)." The design will not be performed.

Solution

When you run STAAD.Pro, in the very first page, there is a section called License Configuration. There are check boxes next to the design codes. Check the box for the US design code or the codes you have licenses for; the circle next to it/them should turn green. Aluminum design code is part of the US Specialized design code.

Please note that if you have purchased Canadian code, you will be checking the Canadian/Australian/South African code in the License Configuration and it should turn green. Similarly if you have purchased the British code, then you will be selecting it and it should turn green. In case, the circle turns red, then you might not have license for the code. You can check the availability of your license through the License Management Tool. Also, there should be at least one license available for a design code to be used. In case, it says '0', check with your IT administrator. He can determine which machine is using the license at that time.
