Assign Function Key to Open InRoads

Question:
How do you assign a function key to open InRoads from within Microstation?

Answer:
To assign a Function Key to open InRoads, please follow these steps:

  1. In the microstation menu, go to Workspace>Function Keys
  2. Highlight the key you wish to assign a value to
  3. Key in “mdl l” and then the path to the ma in the Action field
  4. On a 64bit machine, it would be mdl l "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\bin\civustat.ma"
  5. On a 32bit machine, it would be mdl l "C:\Program Files\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\bin\civustat.ma"

(Please note that these are the default locations of the ma, if you have installed InRoads in a different directory, you will need to use that path to the ma – just search for “civustat.ma”.  Also, you need the quotation marks in the command line for it to load.)
