Bentley Colleague Volaree Rendon Covers “Templates in the Bentley Civil Workspace” at the New Orleans Bentley LEARNing Conference

A topic that invariably comes up when talking Civil are the use of templates in the InRoads/OpenRoads design process. As a result, it is important to have a good “foundation” in templates, the focus of Volaree’s workshop: “Templates – Using and Editing” just concluded at the New Orleans Bentley LEARNing Conference.

During this hands-on workshop attendees had the opportunity to learn:

Objectives

  • How to add templates to a project template library
  • How to review and edit template component geometry
  • Test and edit "simple" end conditions
  • Test an end condition that adjusts to the right of way
  • Test and verify an “automatic wall” template
  • Test a template where the gutter automatically “disappears” when the road drains away from it.
  • Assemble a new template from existing components

… and more

(That’s a lot of information to be covered in this 135 minute hands-on workshop!)
The content of this workshop is immediately applicable to production work as it showed how templates are an integral part of InRoads/OpenRoads workflow and provided a good introduction to the work environment.
