Are you ready for what’s next in Bentley Civil software? Derricke Gray and Ian Rosam kicked off the Road & Site LEARNing Conference today, spotlighting soon-to-be-released SELECTseries 4 maintenance updates, Bentley Civil releases---including a revamped Power Rail Track as well as the new Subsurface Utility Design and Analysis (SUDA)---modeling enhancements, mobile platform strategy, and so much more.
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for you and your projects:
1. New Product Deliverables.
2. Mobile Strategy. Bentley Civil Mobile will introduce round trip data from OpenRoads products to mobile devices---beginning with Apple iOS, then Android and Windows 8 and 10. Among the many features included are: 2D and 3D information, redline and markup, field notes, pictures, videos, geo-referenced requirements, and more.
3. New Superelevation Engine. With a new XML-driven scheme, users can create their own formulas for Cross Slope Rate and transition length calculations, define special customizations, and utilize a broad set of predefined variables for equations. Additional benefits include creating lanes using a road template library, creating super from corridor, and editable superelevation diagrams.

New Superelevation Engine sounds great. For now to define Superelevation I use InRoads SS2 and then import it to SS4 via csv. Good to hear that :)
