Featured LEARNing: Bentley's Virtual Classroom, January 26-31, 2015

Did you know Bentley offers live training in a virtual classroom setting to complement its on-demand video lectures?  You'll work with practical, hands-on exercises and real-world datasets all delivered by Bentley experts.  In the blended learning classroom, you will watch the corresponding video lecture(s) prior to attending the class and work on exercises in the practice workbook during the live portion while an instructor is available to answer your questions.

The following virtual classroom courses for Road & Site Design are scheduled through the end of January.
Visit Bentley's LEARNing events listing for course details and registration or to see more of what's upcoming in the weeks ahead.

QuickStart for Terrain & Geometry Using OpenRoads Technology

26 January 2015 – 13:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jeffrey Martin

This course is for both new users and users upgrading from previous versions of PowerCivil, Power GEOPAK, MX, and Power InRoads software to use the OpenRoads Technology in SELECTseries 3. You will learn to use the software to setup working files, attach existing ground terrain and aerial imagery, and define horizontal and vertical geometry. After completing this course we recommend you continue your learning with the QuickStart for Roadway Modeling Using OpenRoads course where you will learn how to model a roadway corridor and intersection.

QuickStart for Roadway Modeling Using OpenRoads Technology

27 January 2015 – 13:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jeffrey Martin

This course is for both new users and users upgrading from previous versions of PowerCivil, Power GEOPAK, MX, and Power InRoads software to use the OpenRoads Technology in SELECTseries 3. You will learn to model the roadway corridor using an existing 2 lane urban typical section with curb and cutter and sidewalk, control the pavement with geometry, and review the 3D corridor model. You will also model a T intersection complete with curb returns and side slopes using a civil cell. Finally, you will place pavement markings on the model. Before completing this course we recommend you complete the QuickStart for Terrain & Geometry Using OpenRoads course.

Terrain Modeling

28 January 2015 – 13:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jeffrey Martin

This course teaches how to display terrain models to view different source and computed features including boundary's, triangles, contours, and thematic height illustrations. You will also learn how to import graphic elements into terrain models, identify and fix terrain model problems, and combine multiple terrain models together.

Creating Centerline Geometry

29 January 2015 – 13:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jeffrey Martin

This course teaches how to import, create, edit, and view horizontal and vertical centerline geometry. After completing this course you will have a solid understanding of not only the OpenRoads centerline geometry tools but more importantly the design intent captured by the OpenRoads Technology.

Ask the Instructor - InRoads

30 January 2015 – 12:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Sean Conway

In this course, the instructor addresses questions from students on topics covered in training courses which students have previously attended and topics introduced in custom-work projects delivered to students

Creating Ramp Geometry

30 January 2015 – 13:00 EST  (United States)
Instructor: Jeffrey Martin

Create horizontal geometry for a cloverleaf interchange including loop ramps, loop ramp connectors, diamond ramps, entrance and exit tapers, edges of pavement, and shoulder geometry.
