Why don't my end conditions intersect my surfaces in cross-sections exactly? They are either slightly too short in places or slightly overlap.As a rule of thumb, templates should be dropped at the same interval used to cut cross-sections. If two different intervals are used, the two surfaces may not intersect exactly on cross-sections that are cut where no template drop exists. Additionally, if cutting cross-sections at Critical Sections, they will need to be added as key stations in roadway designer as well. Otherwise, the problem may exist at those stations of the design surface not intersecting the existing surface exactly.To summarize, in order for surfaces to intersect exactly in cross sections, templates must be dropped everywhere a cross-section is cut.
