SIG Virtual Workshop: OpenRoads - May 9, 2018 - You're Invited!

Great news! The OpenRoads Special Interest Group is starting a new two-part, virtual series on Practical Design and Modeling for Intersections. You will learn how to make the most of OpenRoads Designer design and modeling capabilities to design a multi-lane, divided intersection in 3D. Complimentary, one-hour sessions are set for 9 a.m. EDT and 5 p.m. EDT on each date and share the same agenda. Register now

May 9, 2018 — Practical Design and Modeling for Intersections: Part 1

In this session, you will learn techniques to maximize OpenRoads Designer capabilities and begin design of a multi-lane, divided intersection in 3D:

    • Define the horizontal layout of the intersection
    • Set elevations and cross slopes within the intersection
    • Dynamically interact with the geometry to design in 3D

June 13, 2018 — Practical Design and Modeling for Intersections: Part 2

This session builds upon OpenRoads Designer capabilities and techniques discussed in Part 1 to carry out the design of a multi-lane, divided intersection in 3D. Topics will include:

    • Using the horizontal layout and vertical definition to finalize design
    • Utilization of tools needed to create a true, solids-based model which includes pavement layers, islands, curbs, and sidewalks
    • Leverage the design model for analysis, plan production, and data delivery for construction

These success-driven sessions are structured to help you take full advantage of cutting-edge technology in OpenRoads Designer to design and deliver a real-world intersection. One Professional Development Hour (PDH) will be applied to each attendee’s Bentley Transcript for self-reporting.

See you online!
