This OpenRoads Special Interest Group virtual workshop takes an in-depth look at the use of OpenRoads modeling to develop and analyze Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) concepts. Steven C. Buck, P.E., of the Florida Department of Transportation, will discuss how he has used 3D modeling to develop MOT concepts for various design scenarios.

Modeling enables engineers to quickly and accurately analyze MOT concepts, resulting in fewer design errors and better overall constructability. Different levels of MOT modeling contribute to a good design. Even the simplest MOT models can provide valuable insight.  During this session, you will see live demonstrations for developing a MOT model for complex and simple scenarios:

  • Two-lane to four-lane widening project
  • Single-lane roundabout
  • Minor urban reconstruction
