What’s the secret to getting cogo point extended descriptions to work? I can set an extended description for a cogo point, view that description in an XML report, save the ALG file, close it, reopen it, and the extended description is nowhere to be found. Any ideas? TIA…
This is a known issue that was reported and has been fixed in the latest version of InRoads SS3.
There is a workaround available:
Create a new alignment from the cogo points by copying the Alignment Definition, then type in a new name for a new alignment, paste in that definition and make the change/edit to apply it to the new alignment. Then the new alignment should have the edited definition and the extended descriptions should remain on the cogo points. At that point, you could go back in and Rename Geometry to change the name of the alignment.
Unfortunately the extended descriptions don't persist when you save the ALG and then reopen it.
I am not aware of any other workarounds for this issue, however, I have verified that the problem has been fixed in the latest version of InRoads.
