Hello i was working on the previous Inroads 2004 or V8 and i had saved my Preferences.ini and styles.ini . Now i have switched to new inroads V8i . My question is : Can i import or open this files to my new version ? Or is there a way to convert them ? Thank you great Program .

Which version of InRoads did you install? With InRoads 08.07.00.82 – 08.11.07.615, an INI to XIN Translator was delivered with the software. It is located at Start>All Programs>Bentley>InRoads Group …. However, if you have installed InRoads 08.11.09.493 or above, the INI to XIN Translator was not delivered with the software and I can post it for you.

Hello , thank you for you very fast answer . My version is the 8.11.05.47 so i think is included ? yes i just found it . Just one other question : when i go to inroads program : File--> Open --> and navigate to file type i dont see Style . what does this mean ? Why in my old version i could load my styles , how can i load them now? thank you . If you can help me with a full PDF tutorials of the program the best there is , i would apritiate it . Regards . The styles are now stored in the XIN file. From the InRoads menu you can select File>Open and the XIN in already listed as an InRoads File. To view/edit/delete/created new styles, this can be done from the InRoads dialog box by selecting Tools>Style Manager.

The ini to xin conversion is a good start, but some items in my ini files which were unified, became split. And not 100% of what was in ini files is supported, while in other areas, they are enhanced or extended. There is a style manager and a named symbology manager. In many cases, you will want to create one named symbology and reuse it all over the place. In other instances, you might need two or more named symbologies that need to act like a set because of things like text justifications or even offsets.
