As part of the engineering drawings I need to create embankment lines (some times called piano lines or frog lines). How do I do this via the templates in open Roads.
this is what they should look like for cut and fill:
HI Martin
Can you just let us know which native civil product you are using Inroads, MX or Geopak
Thanks

Simon beat me to asking which native product you are using, but I wanted to go ahead and give you an answer if working with InRoads. There is a tool under the native commands (Drafting > Draw Slope Direction Pattern) which will give this graphical output.

Do you have access to the process/flow diagram of getting all the deisgn back into Geopak?
Martin,
you can use limits of construction under xs in geopak. this will give you the limits on a plan view. you will then need to use drafting tools in microstation or the draw pattern lines tool in geopak to get some of the piano lines.
You'll need to use Civil Tools > Corridor Modeling > Create Cross Sections (keyin: geometry crosssection create) to create cross sections, and from there use all the same tools you would have used with Geopak SS2. If you need followup steps, I can't help you as I've never needed to show these lines on any plans before. I'm not sure what my workflow would be after getting cross sections up.
PS: I should mention that you'll need to export your geometry to native too. Civil Tools > General Geometry > Export to Native (keyin: geometry geometry export).
Hi Derek,
Thanks for the response. Your answer does not detail how to do this. Furthermore the other issue is we use the PowerCivil Geopak suite, not straight Geopak.
So in PowerCivil SS2 Geopak it has these tools and you can create the embankment lines called "Slope Indicators with type lines". These Slope Indicators are generated when you create any object/roadway. In SS3 & SS4 this is non-existent.
Any further help would be appreciated.

Hi Martin, Any feedback on your problem? I'm sure their is a certain script floating around that might assist with this.... Would prefer not to have to export back to native especially since the models change daily and would require lots of drafting input.
