OpenRoads import superelevation from file

Has anyone tried to import superelevation from CSV with PowerInroads/Inroads 08.11.09.722?

I created report from my superelevation section (Provided by Bentley CSV report) stored in dgn file. Then I moved to another file and created superelevation section and lines on a base geometry. I want to import previously created  CSV report - but I get no superelevation data and no error message.

Lanes names in DGN file match names in CSV files, same with station format, etc. I can not have that tool worked.

I thought it would be the best way if you changed baseline geometry dgn file and want to copy Superelevation to be based on another geometry (which is basicly the same one)

  • I tested that on my real world data: superelevation with more than 160 entries with no success. Then I created csv just with a few entries following the help file: again no success.

Is is a known defect or user fault? I am quite sure it was working prior to .722 release. I a using PowerInroads v8.11.09.

I find superelevation the tool that was much better in SS2. Starting with the lack of capability to edit superelevation diagram by choosing key points, lack of tracking stationing on the diagram or snaping to cardinal horizontal points. Even point you are editing in the table are not highligted on the diagram. and now the problem with importing superelevation from external source. It is really to much.
superelevation is a basic highway engineering tool. I have succesfully implemented OpenRoads on a few airside designs but for roads... it starts to be dis-beneficial.

  • Adam,

Unfortunately, I can confirm that I share the same problem.
