Civil Geometry challenge??

It looks to be very easy to do.

I have a number of “driftplaces” to design – it sounds like a perfect job to be done with Civil Cells.

 Unfortunately I can not layout simple geometry as marked in yellow on picture below. I tried to use line from element, line to element tools to create this tangent to arc and 45deg skewed to edge of pavement line – for some reason tangent snap is fadedout and can not be used with these tools. I did not succeed using other transition tools. Was trying with civil accudraw, but no effect as well.

 Any tip would be helpful.

  • Couple of things I would try.
    1. You can use the line from element tool to construct the line skewed at 45° from the EOP.
    2. Do you know the offset the yellow line is from the EOP? I see 7.5 labeled but that looks like the lane width. If you knew the total offset you could create a construction graphic at that offset.
    3. Then you could use the arc between elements tools to construct the circular portion.
  • Marc. thanks for response.

    1) Line from element to construct line skewed at 45° would be perefect if only could work with tangent snap;
    2)Offset from EOP to Yellow arc will vary, depending on carriageway width;

    it really looks like an easy task to do but I can not accomplish that with Civil Geometry tools and that would be desired if I need Civil Cell.
  • I have resolved this..

    see the attachments inc. short video  email me for the DGN with the completed cell
