GEOAPK-IMPORT/EXPORT LAT-LONG POINTS

Hello, 
 I am starting a new project next week using Power Geopak V8i SS2. 
 I will be given some point data from a cell phone collected in the field in lat-long format. From perusing the discussion groups, it appears the method for importing/exporting lat-long data is by selecting: Tools->Dimensions->XYZ Text->Import Coordinates and Export Coordinates. Can someone confirm if the above workflow is correct for importing/exporting lat-long point data into Power Geopak v8i SS2.
