For some reason the dialog box was not visible when I was having this trouble, I could only see the data entry box that follows the cursor. Later I did see the dialog box with the checkbox and found that I could control it that way as you describe. I have no idea why I can sometimes see and sometimes not see that dialog box. Is there any keystroke pattern that can unlock that entry if the dialog box with the checkbox disappears?

RE: How do I unlock entry dialog to be able to graphically select location with "Locate Station via Datapoint"

Hi Katie,

In troubleshooting this issue, one thing I have found is that if you select the Locate Station via Datapoint command, key-in a station and then enter, the Locate Station via Datapoint dialog box will be checked, locking that station. In moving your cursor, the starting point is locked to the keyed-in station on your alignment. Uncheck Station in the Locate Station via Datapoint dialog box, and you can then select the location by datapoint.

Thanks,
