Problem with Profile by Variable Slope by Element tool.

I am having an issue with the Profile by Variable Slope by Element tool.  I am trying to use the slope style constant and linear.  I want to profile the second blue line (on the bottom) by -1.6% from the first blue line (on the top) but only from the beginning of the line to where the first perpendicular line is around Sta. 425+70.  Then I would like to use the linear slope style to profile from that first perpendicular line to the second perpendicular line from -1.6% to 4%.  When I try to do either one the profile is incorrect.

The first pink dot is where the profile should end and it does not.
