I am getting this error. The alignment I am trying to profile falls entirely within the boundaries of the surface I am cutting it from. Both alignment and surface are active and the dialog defaults to them.
Am I doing this right? When I hit Apply, I'm asked to picked point(s), then if I "reject" I am asked to pick a view. I have no flipping clue what to do with these clicks, because Help isn't very helpful at all once the dialog is closed and I am expected to enter data points, views, whatever.
Thanks

thanks Dude,
This is exactly what was happening. To test I picked several points within the boundary of the surface and when picking a view it generated a profile.
My issue now is that I am apparently restricted to being able to *only* generate a multipoint profile? See attached jpg - there is a radio button only next to Multipoint. I entered in the alignment name and tabbed out of the field, but that does nothing for me. I looked elsewhere in the dialog, but couldn't find any other place to specify alignment.
thanks again.
