Template Vs. Criteria Creation

My own experience making the transition was frustrated by the lack of documentation. I have assembled a host of documentation for my own firm's use now, as you may want to assemble for yours.

I wish there was better non-video documentation since sometimes the videos seem to gloss over features that might be very helpful if you knew a little bit better how to handle things.

www.youtube.com/watch has to be one of the most enlightening videos I've seen on the elusive end condition.

Develop a sound, succinct point naming convention. When trying to connect to points in other corridors, nothing is more maddening than finding a bunch of meaningless names, or worse, names that say one thing but are actually something else.
Copy and modify for similar templates after the original template has been well setup. There's nothing worse than realizing an error in a template you have copied and modified into many, many other templates.

And I haven't explored this fully, but I believe that if the names are not only logical and appropriate for the conditions and easily understandable, but if they are the same throughout your templates, you should have an easier time transitioning between templates.

Do you know if this is true, or if it's just my overactive, hopeful imagination?

if the names are the same, you don't need to play connect the dots in the template transition dialog box. Also, I have had names that were the same, but some were at grade in one template but below grade in another. This is very bad! Or where a point name is used in subsequent templates but moving around - even somtimes moving from the left to the right side of a template. This too is very bad!
