CHANGE HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT INTO THE CORRIDOR

Hello Community.

I have a complex corridor with several Corridors Objects.
I need to change horizontal alignment linked to that coriidor. Using an alternative horizontal alignment.
Is this possible? Or I have to repeat again the corridor with all conditioning factors. (Parametric Constrains, Point Controls, End condition exceptions....)

Thanks.

We logged that as a Customer Request long time ago. This is very common in engineering workflows.

I hope you guys at Bentley read this forum and can see what users need.

In the context of OpenRoads, there is a field in the Corridor Objects on the Template Drop tab for "Horizontal Name" which holds the alignment name. It's greyed out, but if it wasn't, that could be one way to modify the alignment. This would be absolutely lovely. With all the other things that can be changed fluidly, this seems like just one small step toward perfection.

  • OK, that explains it then.

When working with geometry created from civil tools you get all the functionality each individual tool offers you from an editing standpoint, preserving the rules.

When you import from ALG your options for editing using the geometry handles is limited. When importing, notice on the bottom of the dialogue, there is a check box for "Create Civil Rules". If that is unchecked, as in your case for Type 2, all you get is what you see on your screen capture there, just basically stationing. If you check that box the program attempts to apply rules to your imported alignment for post editing using the handles. I think most of the time the alignment comes in as a PI to PI based ruled alignment but I have seen complex ones that the program can not assign rules to.

This still does not solve your problem though, but I hope it is shedding some light on other possibilities for you. IMO, you should always manage control alignments in an ALG file and import. And ALWAYS edit in ALG then import to update.

  • Thanks Marc.

The aligment was imported from ALG file.
  • Thanks.

I can´t edit the alignment in place using the civil handles and rules..

The civil handles are  visible in Complex Elements Type 1, but they are not visible in Complex Elements Type 2. Why?

Is posible convert Complex Elements Type 2 in Complex Elements Type 1?

I managed to use my alternative alignment using it as a Point Control.

Even though this is not the ultimate solution.

Someone in Bentley Knows if OpenRoad allow in future versions modify the horizontal alignment associated with a corridor?

In SS2 this was to be done without problem in the IRD.

    Thanks.
