Something that I had never thought about before and have not been able to figure out how to do so. Is there a way to set the surface symbology when importing surface from graphics? I know there is a trick to having the surface symbology set out of roadway designer (creating a preference with an identical name as your desired symbology) but I haven't been able to make that work importing existing graphics into a surface. Thanks for your help.
But the better way is the rule driven: File/Import/Import Surface advance function From the IR SS2 help: Import Surface Advanced This command allows you to create standards for bulk importation of graphic elements. These standards are persisted in the InRoads settings file as rule sets. A rule set contains user-defined rules that filter graphic elements by properties such as level, type, color, style, and weight. As elements are filtered, they are assigned feature properties, also defined in a rule, and saved to a surface.
Sure a proper Inroads Feature settings and symbology settings has to be done before!
