Draw Ancillary Features multiple cells

Question

I am using the Draw Ancillary Features tool to draw existing utilities into my cross sections. I'm referencing a mapping file and using level symbology as the the search mechanism. Most of the cells are coming in correctly, although on some cross sections cells are drawn where there is no utility crossing the pattern line. For example in the x-sec below, you see the 4 green circular symbols on the left side of the x-sec and there should only be 2 cells drawn for sanitary sewer crossings in this x-sec. The linework in my mapping file is a mix between survey chains, DDB features, and linestrings.

The Ancillary Features tool simply looks at the lines crossing and plots what you set it up to plot. So maybe there is a reference file that has elements with the same symbology you are scanning for and therefore it plots the crossing.
