Hi there. Wondering if you could help me with an Inroads/Microstation issue. Kind of 2 issues really.
- I have set my .dgn files to open by default with Inroads V8i but when I double click on the file it always opens with Mstn XM & Inroads XM no matter what. Have you experienced this and found a way to fix it?
- Also, If I drag and drop the same .dgn onto the Inroads V8i "DESKTOP" icon the file opens in Mstn V8i but InRoads wont open? the only way I can get Inroads V8i to open is through the "applications" Menu but I believe InRoads should launch automatically.
I am using Windows 7.

When you right-click on the DGN file and go to 'OpenWith' and select "Choose default Program...", does it have the Bentley InRoads V8i (SELECTseries 2) product highlighted in the set of products? Also make sure the selection for "Always use this selected program to open this kind of file" is toggled on so it will open those file types with that program instead of a specific DGN file. When you just double-click the InRooads icon to load the product, does it also only load the MicroStation product but not load the InRoads product? There is a variable in MicroStation under Workspace > Configuration called MS_DGNAPPS that may need to be edited. You can edit this variable, set the mode to append, and type in $(BSI_CIVIL_APP).
