Import Station/Offset locations to generate cogo points (V8i-SS3 with Inroads SS2)

I have a text/excel file that contains hundreds of station and offsets of specific locations (ie. new utility pole locations to be placed).  I want to know how I can import this information into Inroads relative to a particular baseline and then generate cogo points.  Does anyone know how to do this?  This is an Inroads question.

  • In the past, we created a script file containing SO=[station,+/-offset] for each point. Then you run the script file using @scriptfilename at the command prompt. We use to put them in a C:\Temp folder and keep the filenames using 8.3 filenames as long paths and filenames often prove problematic.
Also, I believe you could do it with an ICS file (Cogo Classic) Locate From Alignment command.
The help is under InRoads Help > Supplemental Information > Cogo Classic > Locate Commands
