SS4 IMPORT AUTOCAD CELL (PROXY_ENTITY) AS RANDOM POINT INTO THE TERRAIN MODEL

Hello.

I often need to add random points within a terrain model.

These points have been created in another program and are Autocad cells.(PROXY_ENTITY)

Someone knows a way to include these points in the Terrain Model?

I tried droping the cell, but so imported two lines in the Terrain Model.

Any suggestions?

Attach the file.

Thank you.

  • If they come from Civil 3D, can you request a report on them? Or an export of them to LandXML?
If you import them into a DGN file, you should be able to unlock them and then drop them. The elevation text appears offset a consistent distance from the point. You might be able to move them as a group to the point location and then read the elevation text as random points at the text string elevation.
I did a similar exercise years ago with a 2D file.
