GEOPAK Drainage features onto x-sections?

Has anyone had any luck having GEOPAK draw drainage features into a XS file?

I am using the sample criteria delivered with GEOPAK V8XM. I am able to get the pipe.x criteria file to draw pipes into my cross section file, but I am unable to get any of the structure criteria files to draw. I have assigned the 4_man_hole.x file to my manholes in my drainage library. When I use criteria viewer I see that the proper drainage criteria files are being called, but the manhole criteria file just skips to the "end sub" line of the 4_man_hole.x file. As I step through the criteria, it then steps into the the pipe.x file and processes it as expected.

I just want to get the structure criteria files to work so that I can step through them with Criteria Viewer so I can see where I need to modify the sample criteria to fit our standards. I find this is easier than trying to mentally visualize what the criteria files are doing.

Thanks for you help,

Josh Mauritz

  • Josh,

It could be that your drainage cells are not setup correctly. The cells themselves must have construction points built in to give the criteria some guidance.

I've got a dataset setup to run that I would be glad to send you. Just drop me an email and I'll get it to you.

  • Thanks for replying to my BE Communities post.

My drainage cells are 2D, plan view cells with construction class points for connecting pipes to them. I have been using them for many years for storm sewer design, but this is the first year that I tried getting the storm system design to plot onto cross sections.  Is there something special I need to do to the cells themselves for this to work?  Like I said, the pipe.x criteria works, and I was hoping to get the 4_man_hole.x (or some other, similar criteria) to at least launch, so that I can run it with Criteria Viewer to see where/how I need to modify it to work with our standards.

I would like to take a look at your dataset to see where mine is different.  I have copied this message to you via e-mail.

    Thank you,
