Is tipically required on Civil engineering plans to show Cut or Fill grafically drawn, they should have a color for Cut and another for Fill, they may be used to representate changes of stratum by asigning a simbol to Clay,Sand or Rock. Normally are in a relation of 1-1(1 full 1 short) 100% of the slope length and another of 50% of the slope length for clay, for other materials may be a symbol like a tadpole.

Hi, have you gotten any further with this issue. I just moved to Open Roads Designer Connect Edition from InRoads and already miss the "draw slope pattern" tool. Utilizing annotation groups with feature definitions seems to work for drawing (annotating) the slope pattern along the edge of road corridors, however, I need to automatically draw the patterns between regular lines drawn in the 3D view. (ie. not a corridor etc.) It also doesn't seem to work for annotating side slopes generated with the "Create 3D by Slope to target" tool? Anyway, if you have any input, that would be great otherwise Ill keep trying :) Thanks!
Since this an old thread that has already been marked as "answered", you may be better off creating a new thread to ask your questions. Make sure to tell us which version of OpenRoads you are using, because there have been many releases, and they don't all have the same tools (or bugs).

Hi Aaron,
How have your "draw slope pattern"-skills progressed since you wrote this post? I am in the same position, wondering how to display slope pattern without utilizing annotation groups with feature definitions. Thanks,Kristoffer
Hi Kristoffer, I am not sure why Bentley has decided to leave out so many of the the great tools like "draw slope pattern" from InRoads that really set it apart from other programs such as C3D. It is very disappointing to say the least.
As of now, the best we have is the LastMileUtilities Plug-In. It has the ability to draw the Slope Signatures. It has some limitations and is not the most user friendly but it could be worse I guess. See link here: Last Mile Utilities - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities
In addition, I am not sure if you are familiar with "Bentley OpenCivil Ideas Portal"? It is a portal set up by Bentley which allows users to log their Enhancement Ideas, and the more votes your suggestion gets, the more likely it will be implemented in future releases of the software. I suggest you log into it and and vote for my suggestion of adding the "Draw Slope Pattern" tool back in, and please encourage your colleagues to vote as well. Link here:
Draw Slope Direction Pattern Tool | Bentley OpenCivil Ideas Portal (aha.io)
Similar Request from another user here but not as detailed as my suggestion:
Slope signature between two 2D lines | Bentley OpenCivil Ideas Portal (aha.io)
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Aaron.
Hi,Thank you for your reply. I couldn't agree more about the disappointment when using OpenRoads and not finding the right tools anymore that you are used to. Interesting to hear that tools like these aren't very common in other softwares.I found out about Last Mile Utilities by looking around the forum but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet as I don't have the admin rights to save the unzipped folder in the correct location on the C-drive. I will give it a go once my company has handled that matter.I will most definitly vote for your suggestion and I will tell my colleagues to do the same.I wish you a nice weekend,Kristoffer
