SS2: How to change the Style of 100 alignments in one click?

Hi guys,

I have a problem with changing style for a big number of alignments.

In my Geometry file I have around 100 of horizontals for troughing and 100 for cables lines. Everything with Default style :( I need to display only part of this Geometry horizontals or display everything but in different line's style.
Any idea how can I make some filter for alignments?
Even if I want to change style I can chose only one at a time not 100...

  • Hello Agnieszka!

    This is fairly easy.

    1) Open your geometry and make sure it's active (below is a picture showing the Styles as Default)

    2) Go to Geometry > View Geometry >  Horizontal Annotation... On that dialog box, click into the "Include"  field under Horizontal Alignments and then go to the Filter.  The Filter dialog will allow you to select all of the similar alignments. Click OK when done there and you should see your alignments listed in the Selected window. At the top under Apply Style select Active and also Overwrite. At the bottom of this you can deselect all of the toggles if you really don't need to actually view anything. When you Apply, all of the Selected HA's will have their Styles changed.

Apply this however many times you need to 'bulk' change your Styles to whatever alignments you select.

And like magic ... then Save your geometry.

  • That is to change the style, how about the scale?

I did this once using annotation scale set forth in the text on the stationing thru the microstation font. Only problem is that the majors and minors intervals and tick sizes change with the different scales.

It would be nice to have one alignment that would support every scale. Highway files at 40 scale while the bridge people like to use 10 scale. You run the risk of updating two different scaled alignments.
