Template Library .itl config

Hi,

I'm having issues with my .itl file not loading correctly.  When I try to create a template drop, sometimes there is no library listed to choose from.  When I look at my configuration it is defaulted to the user location, which is not defined in my ucf.  I, then, delete the variable, and the library is correct. (2nd picture)  I have to do this every time I create a new template drop.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

  • Hi Lucas,

Once you edit your Configuration Variables and select OK, verify the path in Alert that is displayed. After that is done, edit your ucf and verify the CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY = ….. variable.

In testing, I pointed to the wrong directory and of course my ITL was not found; therefore when selecting Create Template, no library was listed. After I corrected the path for my ITL, it was then listed when I launched the product.

    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sanders

  • Sanders,

Thanks for the reply. So I need to have the variable set in my ucf as well as my pcf file? I thought the project file should be enough. Somehow, when loading geopak, the variable is being changed. What could that source be?

  • Do you know how to create an ms_debug.txt file? These list all variable in the order that they are stored. They can be very useful in finding out why a variable has a different value than you expected. They cannot report on variables that are assigned after a file is opened, however.
Copy one of you shortcuts and a -debug to the command line. Makes sure there is a space before the - but no spaces between it and debug.
When that shortcut is run, a text window will open and when its completed, it explains where to find the file it created. Pressing any key while the window has focus will close it.
It will run loading the last ucf and pcf files in use.

  • Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the input. I ran the debug and came up with these results:

4 different instances came up with the .itl file.

    (appl): CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY=$(CIVIL_CONTENTDIR)RoadwayDesign\$(_CIVIL_CONTENT_VERSION)\$(_CIVIL_CONTENT_LANGUAGE)\$(_CIVIL_CONTENT_UNITS)\Civil_Templates_$(_CIVIL_CONTENT_UNITS).itl [C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Civil\RoadwayDesign\8.11.9\en\metric\Civil_Templates_metric.itl]

    (user): CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY=o:\Usta_V8i_SS2\Sprfld_Workspace\Geopak\Civil\HLR.itl [o:\Usta_V8i_SS2\Sprfld_Workspace\Geopak\Civil\HLR.itl]

    (project): CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY=o:\Usta_V8i_SS2\Sprfld_Workspace\Geopak\Civil\HLR.itl [o:\Usta_V8i_SS2\Sprfld_Workspace\Geopak\Civil\HLR.itl]

    CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY: user = o:\Usta_V8i_SS2\Sprfld_Workspace\Geopak\Civil\HLR.itl

Here's the best part. My configuration reads:
    User Defined
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Civil\RoadwayDesign\8.11.9\en\imperial\DefaultTemplates.itl     And this file does not exist in the directory!?

  • ANYONE know how to fix this? I'm still having the same issues even after reinstalling PowerGEOPAK.
