Simple Template End Conditions not Working

Ken, I use InRoads, but understand the template construction and modeling use the same tool in GPK so here are my thoughts.

First, have you run a "Test" in the Create Template tool on this template? Does it work as expected there? Forget about the modeler, if it doesn't work there then it won't work in the Roadway Designer.

Are you positive that your EC Targets are defined correctly on all of the ECs? This will also get exposed in the Test tool.

When I look at what you've shown here my mind is full of questions like ... what exactly does your Cut EC look like? Does it go from the Drive_EP_L to the Drive_Break_L_1 to the Drive_Cut_L? If so, how are the Point Properties defined for the Drive_Break_L_1 point? Specifically, how are the 4 'End Condition Properties' defined? ...and then also for the Cut_L point?

Next, you say that you have two Fill ECs. Is one just the Drive_EP_L to the Drive_Break_L_1? ...and the other Drive_EP_L to the Drive_Break_L_1 to the Drive_Fill_L? How are those Point Properties defined.

Also, how are your Priorities defined?

To start, if you posted your ITL at least that could be looked at to verify its configuration. It's pretty tough to debug an EC branch condition by looking only at the Component and Constraint views.

Once again, thanks for the reply. I tried to attach the ITL to take a look at. I have run the template test and it functions properly.

in the dataset that you sent, I found that if you edit the point "Ditch_F_L_L" and toggle OFF the "Check for Interception" option in End Condition Properties, the cut end conditions will begin solving.

Since the point "Ditch_F_L_L" is the last point of the first end condition, it was failing because the surface was above the hinge point "Agg_1_0_L_L".  

In the list of End Condition Rules that we typed up a few years ago, this is #4 on the list. (http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/b/road_and_site_design_blog/archive/2010/09/16/roadway-designer-end-condition-rules)

Thank you for the reply, Kevin. I believe I forgot to include the template that I was looking at when I sent the dataset. And since my ITL is a bit of a mess, it made it difficult to narrow the issue at hand. If you look at the "Class 2 Drive-Lt" template, this is where I am having my issue. Since I sent the ITL to you, I have found one issue with the hing point (Drive_EP_L). For whatever reason, it was set to check for interception and to place the point there. I figured that would be the solution to my issues, but when I unchecked both of those, I found it it doing the same thing as before... just drawing in the pavement section without any cut end conditions. I took a look at the rules for ECs that you sent me and I couldn't find anything in conflict within the Drive template. Take a look at this one template and let me know if you notice anything else.

Template looks OK. Which corridor in the IRD has this template not solving?

Sorry... template is not OK... You need to fully constrain every point in the template. Since the last points on the end conditions are not fully constrained, they try to solve in the wrong direction after the point controls move the template over.
