Displaying Profile in Inroads with Geopak Style

Hi

I am using inroads as software to design my profiles , the problem that the client want these profiles to be displayed similar to the attached picture which was done by geopak , is there is any idea that we can edit the preferences file (xin) In inroads so we can get the same profile window with same vertical annotations and horizontal annotation.

  • InRoads Create Profile will display the grid, axis, existing ground, axis elevation labels and axis station labels.

InRoads View Vertical Annotation will display and annotate proposed vertical alignment elements.

InRoads Annotate Profile will display the "bands" along the bottom axis with most if not all of the information from your example.

Will all of the "bands" be identical to the example? I am not sure - we generally only use the existing and proposed elevation portion of this tool and we have it plot them in the actual profile at a 90 degree rotation from the angle in this example.

All of these tools support a variety of symbology settings. When assigning symbologies, using Named Symbologies makes it easier to update common symbologies that might be shared by multiple items. Also, a named symbology can have different symbology for plan, profile and section and for point, line and text.  For example, the symbology for grid axis and axis labels can be the same Named Symbology for planimetrics, profile and cross section, but the level, color, weight, etc. can be different for each. If you are wondering how grid axis can be used in planimetrics, consider the "pattern lines" as I believe GEOPAK refers to them - which for InRoads is just the Plan View Location of each cross section.

By taking advantage of this type of multi-use one name approach, the number of named symbologies needed will be greatly reduced.
