I have been using SS3 to design a roadway and have had very long wait times on almost anything that deals with processing a corridor. Sometimes it can take 30-45 minutes to do one task. Such tasks can include, opening the file, creating a proposed terrain model off of my design, etc. I thought this was the norm until I found a nice youtube channel CivilTSG, which I think is run by bentley. Everything that they do in that channel runs crazy fast. I have a deadline I am trying to meet coming up and would greatly appreciate any help on why my project is crawling along.
Here is some information:
3D File sizes (broken up into two because the file would be too slow to work with):
File1: 36.5 MB
File2: 29.6 MB
Computer specs:
Also it should be known that I copy all files to my computer to help with speed too. If I worked off of the company network, the files would take too long to do anything.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping there are just some settings somewhere I can change to help all of this out.
P.S.
After trying to dig a little deeper I noticed that when watching my processes on task manager it looks like Microstation is only using 25% of my processor and only 2.3 gb of my 32 gb ram when trying to process something (this time it has been stuck on trying to open a cross section view for around 30 minutes). Is this normal, or is Microstation being limited on how much resources it can use from the computer?
That is the only version number I know of. I am sorry but I dont know too much about the specifics of the software or if it is openroads. I believe it is because it sounds familiar If you tell me how to get the information, I will do it.
