Hi All,
Thanks for the video explaining how to drape raster file onto terrain meshes.
The problem I am having I am using a SID raster file and once it is assigned to the terrain mesh the quality is so poor you cant make it out!
It does not work like the video shows it? Any ideas.
The attached file shows the first image in the wire frame presentation style and then the second with smooth style presentation
Thanks.

Hi Martin, Smooth is indeed poor quality, you better can make a material for your photo an assign that to your model. I use always illustration mode to model my scene. Regards, crhistiaan
Thanks for all responding.
I now understand there are limitations of pixel sizes to using DC Drape. Officially from Bentley Communities it is 1600 x 1600. It was in one of the links above.
The SID file I am using is a single file that is 1,5GB!
So my solution was to go to google earth and capture a smaller area of the aerial image and then DC Drape worked beautifully.
The next thing is to clip the SID image! Do you know if any freeware software that will do this?
Christian,
I would like to know how you going about doing what you suggest?
Hi Martin,
First you have to make an TIFF or JPG file from your SID file, Perhaps you can use Bentley Descartes. It is Within SS4 Openroads if you have ELS. Go to Tools Product Add-ins and activate descartes.
When you have the image you go to visualisation- materials and create a new material and assign this to your DTM model.
