I already have mainline corridor modeled and am trying to build my side-road intersections. What Marc said about clicking first on the 2D element and then projecting or doing a quick profile works well - Thanks.

RE: Quick Profile Transitions using Corridor Features

Marc,

It took me a few reads through what you were suggesting but that does work nicely to project a profile from a corridor onto an element. I'll have to see if it works if my corridor is in a reference file but I think that solves my issue.
Do I have to set my design stage of my corridor to something else?

RE: Quick Profile Transitions using Corridor Features

In your example of a side street tie in to a main roadway, simply use the quick profile from surface command. The name of the command is a bit confusing as you can also select a corridor as your "surface". When the command asks you to identify the surface just select the corridor object in 2d view and you should see a surface line similar to your ss2 workflow.

The commands referenced in the link below will project a longitudinal feature on to an alignment. Those commands work on 2d geometry (with associated profiles of course). The Q5 and Q6 commands will accomplish the same projection but you can use 2d geometry or 3d linears.
