I have this issue as well. This latest time, the issue is that the element I'm trying to export into gpk is a "line" and not a complex element. I used the Microstation insert vertex and removed it again. That made line into complex element and was able to export to gpk.

I am also having the same problem, as others have identified in this thread. I am wondering if anyone has figured out the problem and a solution yet. Existing ground profile will not export out using the native export to gpk command. My gpk was not corrupt, and profile name was acceptable. Not sure why this is happening.

My issue was it that it didn't like the complex chain. Try using the Complex By Elements tool (A-1 under horizontal geometry) on the line you want to export.

I know this is old, but is there a solution to this issue? I am having the same problem. We think it could be due to the use of a reverse curve in the alignment That is the only thing that changed between an old alignment (no reverse curve) and a new alignment.

You can attach you dgn file that has the alignment, profile, and terrain model in it and we will take a look. Is your existing ground profile active? What is the name of the Profile? What is the name of the alignment?

The issue was that the export native tool didn't like a complex chain. switched it to a smart line and it worked just fine. Was just odd that it worked for some but not others.

I am not a Geopak expert but why can you not export the terrain model to a TIN file and use that TIN to display the existing ground in your profiles?

I did not get it to work. I used the legacy tool Existing Ground Profile in Geopak Roads to draw the NG profiles once I had the alignments exported to native.

Jan,

The geometry name is not the problem, we tried many different names. I am not sure what you are recommending to fix it. I have the DTM referenced into the design file. I need the existing ground profile for the Plan and Profile sheets. It is fine designing the proposed profile in the design file but it needs to be shown in the plans as well. The only way to place the profiles into sheets is to export to native and use the Design and Computation manager to draw the profiles.

Hi,

I am InRoads SS4 user and I had some problems with exporting. The main reason was almost always geometry name, but here your problem is probably different. In InRoads we have to export DTM as separate file to display it on profile... There is no point in exporting ground profile line. I guess it works in the same way in GPK.
