I am not sure if I use the examples workspace.

I have now tried to add the variable but the alignment is still not in the *.imodel at the iPad.

You have the correct version. Are you using our examples workspace? you can try to add the variable to your user profile.

I now have ss4 but there are still problems. I cannot see the “civil_imodel_include_icm” and think it could be because of the version of the software. It is not ss4 update(/Refresh) 1. How do I check if I have update 1?

What is the difference between SS4 and SS4 with update 1?

It takes some/(a lot of) time before I get access to ss4 and therefore I will hear if it possible in any way to use ss3 (with NMP) to make the .imodel for use with OpenRoads Navigator for the iPad.

If ss3 can be used, what is the need to make the .imodel?

I have access to NMP version 5.xx.

You sould upgrade to ss4. from there, you can import the alg and the dtm. once the alignments and dtm's are in openroads, you can create the imodel. see this video

After I have used a lot of time on searching, I find this pdf * and from that the explanation is that the software is to old (OpenRoads/PowerCivil should be SS4 and NMP should be 5).

I have not access to OpenRoads/PowerCivil SS4 and therefor I cannot test if it works or not.

I do not know what you mean by that - OpenRoads Navigator is a separate app to Navigator, as it focuses on the civil side of things more. See the link I posted previously.

OpenRoads Navigator is the app that will allow you to use alignment based stationing.
