Below is a screen shot of the rules that appear when selecting a complex element and our labeled as follows: 
 1. Lock - Deactivate Rule 
 2. Unlock - Activate Referencing Rules

If you can&amp;#39;t edit any elements, it is likely that in the selection tool settings, &amp;quot;disable handles&amp;quot; is active. It needs to be deactivated to edit elements.&lt;br /&gt;

On the other hand, it does sort of sound like you can edit other elements, but just not this one.
